The ad was targeted at teens and was aired internationally during the Indian Premier League 2013.


Cultural Context
IPL is the biggest cricket fiesta in India after the ICC World Cup. A time when every brand goes big, with celebrities and grand production values, GEMS went small, with simple, endearing cricket stories in child-like set ups using the colorful buttons themselves to tell them.

Behind the Scenes
These ads were first shot in-house as that was the only way to sell the idea and the voice over was done by George himself.

The director decided to stick with the same VO artist for the final spots as well.

Idea: Odd One Out
In each film we had a character who seemed totally out of place.
And we later realise that person was actually on a Google Duo video call. 
Since the quality is so good, it's like being there in person.
